I reside

in a groove

of mud

on the outside

wall of our frenzied

beehive.

Through a small size

crack, I see

the other buzzers

rubbing against

one another

as if waltzing in

eights

is reason enough

for existing.

*Barbara once said she “likes living in cities because cities are people-hives. Bees live in beehives, and people live in people-hives.”
