Kemi Oritsejafor is inspired and driven to work as a designer and photographer from the stories and lives of the West African women she has been raised and groomed by. Her work speaks to the young, black female dilemma and experience. At 22, she aspires to use her work to reflect, digest, and be born anew from both the challenges and the strength of black women. Her work features and is created for those whose beauty and attributes are too big for mainstream art and society. She currently resides in Bed Stuy with her plants.
